Commitment to an ethical business model
As the owner of Globalinguae, Dr. Jillane Baros is passionate about ensuring we adhere to an ethical business model which models global citizenship for students and the community. Specifically, we do this by:
Recruiting quality instructors - Every instructor is a certified language teacher with a wealth of classroom experiences committed to effectively adapting our professional practices to an online format. This means our courses are aligned with state and national standards and draw upon our extensive academic knowledge and professional experiences to create effective. research-based, high-impact learning experiences.
If you are interested in becoming a Globalinguae instructor, please contact us. We are especially interested in recruiting teachers who can offer additional languages at the elementary and secondary/adult levels. Please note that you must hold a current teaching certification for the language and level you wish to offer.
Keeping courses affordable - We firmly believe that becoming proficient in multiple language and cultures is a critical 21st century skill that everyone should have the opportunity to achieve. We ensure that instructors and contributors receive fair compensation while maximizing the accessibility of language learning
Ensuring all are welcome - We don't stop at simply "nondiscrimination." Rather, we intentionally and systematically examine our practices to ensure they are inclusive and representative of people from all backgrounds, nationalities, heritages, native languages, race, sex, orientation, gender, etc.
Giving back to communities - We give back to both student and language communities through our hiring practices. We offer full time high school and college students employment and growth opportunities as independent contractors for content creation, including artwork, animations, authorship, and programming. In addition, we actively recruit and compensate native speakers for providing unique and invaluable contributions to our courses, namely in listening and interpersonal activities. This underscores the value of diversity in our communities while connecting students with authentic language usage and cultural diversity.
Are you a full time student interested in creating artistic or literary content for Globalinguae?
Are you a native Spanish speaker? Would you like to get paid for sharing your language with others?
We may be small now, but we have BIG dreams. In the future, we hope to use business proceeds to fund both domestic and international volunteer efforts, fund scholarships for student travel and language study, and contribute to our local communities through donations and other forms of meaningful assistance.
